Brian D. Comer

Brian Comer is President of ING's Public Markets line of business, and a member of ING’s Global Management Council. His responsibilities include management of the 403(b) business, Public Market Distribution, captive and independent channel distribution management, product development, third party administration management, industry relations and client relationship management.
Brian began his career with Aetna in 1978. He spent the majority of his career in sales management in the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution marketplace. He was National Director of the 457 Deferred Compensation business and Field Vice President responsible for the 403(b) and 457 business. In addition to his sales background, Brian was President of ING Life Insurance and Annuity Company and managed the P&L, product development, asset retention/rollover product development, actuarial and finance, and market strategies for INGs 401, 403 and 457 business.
Brian holds a BA degree in Economics from Fairfield University and NASD Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 professional designations. Brian is on the Board of America’s Promise Alliance in Washington, D.C. He is also heavily involved in the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford.Brian is a member of the National Association of State Treasurers and National Deferred Compensation Administrators. He is involved with the Special Olympics for NY and CT and is a board member for the Nutmeg State Games and UCONN Business School. He has been married for 30 years to wife Nancy and has two children, Erin (25), Tim (22).
