ING Investment Management MBA Rotational Program
Mission
Establish a premier graduate development program that attracts and grows three (3) MBA’s emerging from top business schools annually. The ING Investment Management “MBA Rotational Program” is designed to provide participants with the unique opportunity to gain exposure to investment products by working alongside industry experts in a wide variety of rotations. Each MBA will have an opportunity to rotate in three key business areas for eight (8) months each during a two-year period. The following rotations are currently available:
Fundamental Equity Research (NYC)
Support our senior research analysts in identifying, maintaining, and enhancing our equity research capabilities. Responsibilities may include gathering and analyzing industry data, conducting statistical and financial analysis, building financial models, and completing studies of industry groups or individual securities or company reports. Participants will gain understanding of portfolio construction and management.
Quantitative Equity Research (NYC)
Support the development of a leading-edge quantitative research effort to continue enhancing our current product line and the creation of new products. Responsibilities may include quantitative research, software development, support of valuation, earnings quality and arbitrage models including execution, back testing and systems implementation. Participants will gain understanding of top down asset allocation models, fundamental driven stock selection screens, portfolio construction & risk management, and equity derivatives and volatility models.
Asset Allocation (NYC)
Support the asset allocation “investment engine” on all aspects of our asset program, with over $10 billion in assets under management. Asset Allocation is generally described as the most complex and difficult part of investing, which touches all aspects of our business – Institutions, Individuals and Packaged Products. Responsibilities may include building asset allocation models and/or working on asset liability programs. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the markets, while building their quantitative skills.
Product Development (NYC)
Work primarily with our Business Development Mangers to support client relationships and products in an effort to raise and retain asset for ING IM through our Affiliates and Third Party Financial Institutions. Responsibilities may include collecting and analyzing competitive information and market share data, creating marketing action plans based on data collection, assisting with marketing campaigns for new products, maintaining database peer group competitive information. Participants will gain exposure to multiple facets of ING Investment Management’s business and the investment management industry as a whole.
Fund of Hedge Funds (NYC)
Support our institutional-quality fund of hedge funds products, which are structured around rigorous risk management and seek to provide robust absolute return and portfolio diversification thorough sophisticated asset allocation techniques and investments in carefully chosen hedge fund managers. Responsibilities may include detailed market research and quantitative analysis at the strategy level and manager selection due diligence. Participants will gain exposure to the hedge fund industry as well as various investment strategies and underlying securities within individual hedge funds.
Real Estate Finance (ATL)
Support the Risk Management and Loan Production groups within the Real Estate Finance function to enhance our macro view of market changes and activities. This group currently originates commercial and multi-family mortgage investments for ING Group, U.S. life insurance companies and other worldwide affiliates. Responsibilities may include developing new and expanded third party sources for tracking market changes and trends and supporting our production loan activity.
Portfolio Management/Client Relations (ATL)
Support our Portfolio Management / Client Relations team which provides portfolio management services to internal ING clients with over $85 billion of assets under management, primarily in fixed income. Responsibilities may include assisting the Portfolio Management team by providing effective analytical support for client reporting and contribute analytical creativity in a team environment centered on portfolio specific problems/opportunities. Participants will gain critical knowledge of the uniqueness of managing proprietary assets via fixed income vehicles.
Other rotations will be added based on business needs. We are seeking candidates who have a keen interest in careers in the Investment Management Industry. However, this program is designed to provide participants with broad exposure to Investment Management ranging from Product Development to Research disciplines.
